I've created a monster! When I started the web page, I thought it would be nice for you to see a few of my clients, so you can see that they're folks like you. And now I can't stop! If I don't post data each year, people will think I didn't have clients worth sharing. So once again, I bring you the year's clients and their results.
Arthur is in at Georgetown. The accompanying note from Dean Cornblatt, saying the essays were "terrific," made Arthur and me both very happy. In January he added Duke to his list. In May he had the poor fortune of adding Wait list status at Harvard and Yale.
Dan got a karmic reward for letting me play in his LSAC file to learn how the recommendation system works -- an early action admission to Georgetown. Shortly afterwards GW offered him a seat. He added Hastings and Boston U. to his growing list in February, and in March, we got a nice surprise from USC. He sent me a photo and a lovely note at Christmas. He's on reserve at Cornell , but it will be a few weeks yet before we hear from them.
Patrick got his dream come true -- an admission to Columbia, binding early decision. He withdrew all other apps, of course, as he's required to do. He's one of the only clients this year I didn't get to meet -- he was already back in Jamaica when he hired me, and that just seemed to much to ask.
Hassan's acceptance at CLEO got him off to a good start; then he added two of his top three choices, Denver and Ohio State. He's withdrawing most of his other apps, but holding onto one or two more top choices. He got admitted to Willamette a few days after he sent in a letter withdrawing his app. He's got some traveling to do, especially to find a good home for Astrid and Ashton.
Nicole's been racking them up faster then I can keep track of -- she was accepted into CLEO, a portent of good in her future. Then, in rapid order, she added Arizona, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. She's one of the clients I was with at Wisconsin's Admitted Students' Weekend. We added a wait list at Duke, although she won't hear until after she completes CLEO.
2008 Update: Nicole did indeed arrive at Duke and graduate from there as well. I heard from her in her second year, but have lost touch since then.
Guy got a phone call from Rey Aguilar at Utah, and was so giddy at his first acceptance that he called me before he called his wife! Now he's added Ohio State and William Mitchell. The financial aid package from Utah made his decision for him, since he has a family to worry about.
Amanda got two acceptances over the holiday -- DePaul and Missouri Kansas City. Missouri is way high up on her list, so she's a happy camper. William Mitchell followed in January. Finally she got admitted to St. Louis, which is one of her top choices, so that's the winner on her list. Here's a picture of her in L.A.
Aggie joined me and Susannah in Vegas in January. In April she got into Cleveland State. She wrote:
GREAT NEWS!! Got accepted into Cleveland-Marshal. I sent in a seat deposit.
Call me when you get back so we can discuss!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!
2008 Update: In 2007, Aggie married her longtime sweetheart Alan. The two of them had dinner with me and several other people (an honorary niece, another client, and two admissions officers) this August in Cleveland, and I am beyond proud to see how well she and Alan are doing. A thousand congrats!
Marsh is in at Indiana Bloomington with a big bucks scholarship, then added Illinois. Wash. U. came third, but since he has family there, he's chosen it over the other two.
Joe got an acceptance to Wisconsin, then followed it quickly with offers from NYU, Michigan and Texas. Since he declined to have his face on our web page, I'll just have to leave my favorite email of the year right here:

You get the idea! We're going out to celebrate! Thank you thank you thank you!
Susannah had acceptances at Utah and Nevada (the local school), but given her background as an architect and a former member of the UVA rowing team, we were able to pull off one more good result before we finished.
Maria's been admitted to CLEO; she also got seats at Hamline and William Mitchell. She did so well at CLEO that Illinois offered her a seat! Here's a picture of her at one of my famous group dinners, and another of her at brother Sam's Duke graduation.
Chris, one of my New York City clients, picked up a seat at CLEO and Albany early on, and just added Georgetown in May. He has a rough choice now; attend law school this year or reapply for a JD/MBA program next year. Stay tuned...
Erin got admitted to Case Western! Her whole family is thrilled. She sent a small gift with her seat deposit, and Barbara Andelman, the Dean of admissions, wrote, " We're enjoying Erin's candy immensely. It's so great to have an enthusiastic admit! We already love her!" She gets my highest accolade for having survived a week in a moving vehicle with me when we toured law schools.
Gabe's first acceptance was at safety Albany; his next two, at Villanova and Miami, made decisions a lot rougher. In May he added Pittsburgh, and we're still waiting on the inevitable wait lists. In July Minnesota came through, but Pitt was a better fit for his job interests, so he stayed east.
Alex has been admitted to Michigan, his #1 choice, so he's withdrawn apps at a lot of schools.
Joseph got Tulane and Tennessee back in March. In April he added Florida, his #2 choice; now we're waiting for the waitlist at his # 1 choice. Ultimately he decided that Florida's Real Estate Law program had his attention, so Florida became home.
Ruben's got CLEO, Seattle U. (the local school) and Iowa. Iowa offered him such a good deal that he withdrew all his other apps.
Yvonne got two in one week, Hofstra (with a big bucks offer) and Brooklyn. She added CLEO in April and Indiana in May; now she has to decide if she'll leave NY for more money and a better reputation.
Jose's accepted to Arizona State and is wait listed at Wisconsin. At the last minute he added a seat at Loyola Marymount, and is glad to be able to continue living in L.A. and staying connected to the entertainment industry.
2006 Update: Jose has an internship today with Alschuler Grossman Stein & Kahan, LLP, in Santa Monica, working on a large litigation case against a major TV broadcaster. Most of the documents they have to review for discovery are in Spanish, and Jose's background in the TV industry plus his fluency in Spanish landed him the job!
Jesse's accepted to Pacific (a/k/a McGeorge) the local safety, and was waiting for the rest. In April he was offered a seat at Indiana, and in early May, I got an email from him saying "IN AT MINN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Sean was offered a deferred seat at Penn State. This is exactly what he wanted, so he's very happy. He wrote:
I received the acceptance letter from Penn State in the mail yesterday - yippie!
I wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation to Janice. And of course I
want to express my gratitude and appreciation to you. Loretta, thanks again for everything!
And the rest are still waiting to hear. Pray for them, cross your fingers, whatever you believe in doing to bring good fortune, do it!
